The family was devastated, both mentally and financially. Friends, relatives and doctors as well as the SIDS hospital helped in every way. Another three months passed with minor problems. Two new surgeries were performed to make a new passage of faces and to reconstruct the intestinal tract continuity. Eventually after total seven operations and two years later the family sat in my cabin with their daughter. These moments were the most glorious moments for all of us.

મેડીકલ પ્રેક્ટિસમાં ગર્ભપાત ઘણી વખત માતાના હિત માટે અથવા ખોડખાંપણ વાળા બાળકને કારણે જરૂરી હોય છે અને તે યોગ્ય સમજ તેમજ કાયદાકીય રીતે પેપરવર્ક સાથે કરવામાં પણ આવે છે. આપણે આવી જ એક ૨૬ વર્ષીય મહિલાની વાત કરીએ. આ મહિલા આવી જ કોઈ તબીબી તકલીફ હોવાને કારણે સ્ત્રીરોગચિકિત્સક (Gynaecologist) પાસે ગર્ભપાત માટે ગઈ હતી પરંતુ ગર્ભ કોથળી સાફ કરતી વખતે ભ્રુણની સાથે સાથે મોટા આંતરડા પણ ખેંચાઈ આવ્યા હતા અને મોટા આંતરડાને ગંભીર ઈજા પહોંચી હતી. બીજા દિવસે તેણીને પેટમાં અસહ્ય દુ:ખાવો થતા તેણી બીજા સ્ત્રીરોગચિકિત્સક અને સર્જનને મળી જેમને તેણીની શસ્ત્રક્રિયા કરી પરંતુ ત્યારે પણ તેણીની તકલીફ દૂર ન થતાં ડો.ધવલ માંગુકિયાનો સંપર્ક કર્યો. તેમના પરિવારજનોને સમજાવી તાત્કાલીક શસ્ત્રક્રિયા માટેની તૈયારી કરી. અગાઉની બે શસ્ત્રક્રિયા બાદ હવે ફરીથી શસ્ત્રક્રિયા કરવી ખૂબ જ કઠિન હતી. પેટની અંદરના અવયવો એકબીજા સાથે એ રીતે ભેગા થઈ ગયા હતા કે કંઈ પણ સમજવું મુશ્કેલ હતું. ભારે મહેનત અને બે કલાકની ગડમથલ બાદ સમજણ પડી કે આખેઆખું મોટું આંતરડું શરૂથી અંત સુધી કોથળી સાફ કરતી વેળાએ ખરાબ થઈ ગયું હતું. પેટની અંદરની પરિસ્થિતિ ખરેખર ઓપરેશનમાં જોડાયેલા દરેક વ્યક્તિ માટે ડરામણી હતી. પરિસ્થિતિ એટલી ગંભીર હતી કે દર્દીનો જીવ બચાવવા બગડેલું મોટું આંતરડું કાઢી અને મળ માર્ગને પેટ દ્વારા બહાર લઈ લેવામાં આવ્યો. અંદર એટલો બધો બગાડ હજુ પણ બનતો હતો કે જે સાફ કરવા ફરી બે વખત શસ્ત્રક્રિયા કરવી પડી હતી. લગભગ એક મહિનો આઈ.સી.યુ.માં રહેવું પડયું હતું. જેમાંથી 14 દિવસ સુધી તેણી વેન્ટિલેટરના સહારે રહી હતી. પરિવાર માનસિક રીતે અને આર્થિક રીતે સાવ ભાંગી પડયો હતો. મિત્રો, સગા-વહાલાં અને ડોક્ટરો તેમજ સિડ્સ હોસ્પિટલ દ્વારા પણ દરેક રીતે મદદ કરવામાં આવી. નાની-મોટી તકલીફો સાથે બીજા ત્રણ મહિના પણ પસાર થયા. મળમાર્ગ નો નવો રસ્તો બનાવી અને કુદરતી રીતે આંતરડાનો માર્ગ ફરી શરૂ થાય તે માટે બીજી બે શસ્ત્રક્રિયા ફરી કરવામાં આવી. આખરે કુલ સાત વખત ઓપરેશન ભોગવી બે વર્ષે આ પરિવાર તેમની નાનકડી દીકરી સાથે મારી કેબિનમાં બેઠો હતો. આ ક્ષણો અમારા બધા માટે સૌથી ગૌરવપૂર્ણ હતી.

Let's know about one such 26 year old woman. The woman went to the gynaecologist for an abortion due to a similar medical problem, but while cleaning the fatal sac, large intestine was pulled and seriously injured. The next day she was in excruciating pain in her abdomen and she saw another gynaecologist and surgeon who operated on her but even then her problem did not sort hence she was referred to Dr. Dhaval Mangukiya. Her family was explained and advised for immediate surgery. Re-surgery was very difficult after the previous two surgeries. The internal organs of the abdomen were damaged in such a way that it was difficult to understand anything. After much hard work and two hours of fuss, it was realized that the entire large intestine had damaged. The situation inside the abdomen was really scary for everyone involved in the operation. The situation was so severe that the patient's large intestine had to be removed completely and the faecal passage was taken out through the abdomen (stoma) to save the patient's life. There was still so much damage inside that it had to be operated on two times again to clean it up. She had to stay in ICU for about a month. Of which she remained on the ventilator for 14 days. The family was devastated, both mentally and financially. Friends, relatives and doctors as well as the SIDS hospital helped in every way. Another three months passed with minor problems. Two new surgeries were performed to make a new passage of faces and to reconstruct the intestinal tract continuity. Eventually after total seven operations and two years later the family sat in my cabin with their daughter. These moments were the most glorious moments for all of us.
